Kohima, April 1: Detection of 5 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday pushed the caseload in Nagaland to 12,345.
“Five positive cases of COVID-19 was reported today, including one in Kohima and four in Dimapur district,” said Director of Health Department, Dr Denis Hangsing in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
The caseload includes 11,980 recovered persons, with recovery rate coming down to 97.04 percent from Wednesday’s 97.07 percent, he said, adding that the active patients are 116.
So far 91 persons, including 10 with co-morbidities, have succumbed to the infection while a total of 158 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
All the active cases do not have any symptoms, he said.
Over 65K people vaccinated
Nagaland has administered COVID-19 vaccines (Covishield) to over 65,000 persons across the State till date.
The State has administered a total of 89,778 doses to 65,539 persons so far, said State Immunization Officer, Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total number of persons who have received the vaccine in the State, 37,818 are frontline workers, 12,192 healthcare professionals, 11,364 senior citizens and 3,736 people above 45 years with specified co-morbidities, he said.
A total of 8,373 healthcare workers, 15,619 frontline workers, 158 senior citizens and 89 persons above 45 years with co-morbidities have received the second shot of COVID-19 vaccine completing the full course of vaccination, he said.
Among those inoculated, no one has had any adverse effect needing medical interventions in the state till date, Dr Thurr said.
Meanwhile, the DIPR reported that vaccination for people aged 45 years and above got underway at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) on Thursday.
Senior government officials including Chief Secretary J Alam received the vaccine shots. “Many residents of Kohima turned up get the vaccination,” it stated.
In Kohima, there are two vaccination centres: one at NHAK and another at Urban Health Centre, Seikhazou which will be in operation from Monday to Thursday, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm till April 15, it informed. (Page News Service)
