COVID-19 Nagaland: 5 fresh infections & 12 recoveries


KOHIMA, OCTOBER 24: Nagaland today detected 5 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the tally of confirmed cases to 31,712.
Positive cases detected today include 2 in Zunheboto district and 1 each in Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung districts, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.

He also said that 12 positive patients ~ Dimapur: 6, and Kohima: 5 and Mokokchung: 1 ~ recovered during the last 24 hours taking the recovered persons tally to 29,760 with the recovery rate at 93.84%.
There are 243 active patients, of who 39 have mild symptoms, 5 are moderate and 7 severe while 192 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
With no demise for the day, the death toll in the State is at 679, of which 15 had co-morbid conditions, he said.
Altogether 1,030 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
Thus far, a total of 390,810 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 110,746 on RT-PCR, 85,304 on TrueNat and 194,760 on Rapid Antigen Test, Dr Kikon said.
A total of 11,72,802 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 705,947 persons as on Saturday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,957 are frontline workers, 15,998 are healthcare professionals, 201,410 are people above 45 years and 427,582 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.

A total of 466,855 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 47,815 frontline workers, 13,360 healthcare workers, 156,321 people above 45 years and 249,359 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
