COVID-19 Nagaland: 39 fresh infections, 20 recoveries


KOHIMA, OCTOBER 28: Nagaland today reported 39 fresh COVID-19 infections and 20 recoveries of positive patients amid the tally surging to 31,811.

Positive cases detected today include 24 in Dimapur district, 9 in Mokokchung, 5 in Kohima and 1 in Peren districts, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
He also said that 20 positive patients ~ Dimapur: 10, Kohima: 5, Wokha: 4 and Peren: 1 ~ recovered during the last 24 hours taking the recovered persons tally to 29,864 with the recovery rate at 93.87%.
There are 222 active patients, of who 37 have mild symptoms, 4 are moderate and 9 severe while 172 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
With no fatality for the day, the death toll in the State remained at 684, of who 15 had co-morbid conditions, he said.
Altogether 1,041 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
Thus far, a total of 394,177 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 110,882 on RT-PCR, 85,819 on TrueNat and 197,476 on Rapid Antigen Test, Dr Kikon said.
A total of 11,95,304 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 709,657 persons as on Thursday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,961 are frontline workers, 15,998 are healthcare professionals, 202,088 are people above 45 years and 430,610 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.

A total of 485,647 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 47,974 frontline workers, 13,375 healthcare workers, 160,073 people above 45 years and 264,225 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
