COVID-19 Nagaland: 31 fresh infections, 1 death

KOHIMA, JANUARY 6: In one of the highest daily COVID-19 cases reported in over 2 months, Nagaland on Thursday reported 31 fresh COVID-19 infections taking the total confirmed cases to 32,247.
Of the total new cases, 30 were reported in Dimapur District while Kohima had 1 case.
The State also reported 5 recoveries taking the recovered persons’ tally to 30,382 and recovery rate at 94.21%.
After 11 consecutive days without fatality, a positive patient died in Dimapur district increasing the death toll in the State to 703, of who 16 had co-morbid conditions.
The number of active patients has increased to 82 in the State, of who 16 have mild symptoms and 2 are severe while 46 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
Meanwhile, Health Department official informed that 832 teenagers in the 15 to 18 age bracket were administered with COVID-19 vaccine as on Wednesday.
Further, a total of 13,39,570 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to 760,789 persons as of Wednesday, said State Immunization Officer Dr RituThurr.
