COVID-19 Nagaland: 237 fresh infections, 3 deaths reported

Kohima, May 9: Nagaland today detected 237 fresh infections taking the COVID-19 tally to 16,150.
“237 +ve cases of COVID-19 reported today. Kohima – 128, Dimapur – 89, Mon – 5, Tuensang – 4, Phek – Mokokchung – Longleng – 3 each, Peren – 2. 128 +ve patients have recovered. Kohima – 86, Dimapur – 37, Mon – 4, Mokokchung – 1,” said Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet.

With this the caseload, include 12,687 recovered patients and 2,809 active patients, he said.
The recovery rate in the State has slightly decreased to 78.55% from Saturday’s 78.92%, said State Immunization Officer Dr Nyanthung Kikon.
Among the active patients, 131 are with mild symptoms, 48 though moderate are on oxygen, 78 severe on oxygen, 11 in ICU and 8 are critical on ventilator, he said.
Demise of 3 positive patients today – two in Dimapur and one in Mokokchung district has increased the death toll in the State to 140, of which 10 had comorbidities, he said.
So far, a total of 1,65,028 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 81,603 on RT-PCR, 50,363 on TrueNat and 33,062 on Rapid Antigen Test, he said.

Meanwhile, as of today, Nagaland has administered a total of 2,25,361 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 1,77,113 persons, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State 51,690 are frontline workers, 14,992 are healthcare professionals and 1,10,431 are people above 45 years and senior citizens, he said.
