Kohima, October 22: Nagaland today detected 19 fresh COVID-19 cases pushing the tally of confirmed cases to 31,689 while death toll increased to 678, a health official said.
The positive cases detected today include 15 in Dimapur and 2 each in Kohima and Wokha districts, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
He also said that 21 positive patients – Dimapur: 16, Mokokchung: 3 and Kohima: 2 recovered during the last 24 hours taking the recovered persons tally to 29,738 with the recovery rate at 93.84%.
There are 245 active patients, of whom 45 have mild symptoms, 9 are moderate and 6 severe while 185 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
Demise of a positive patient in Peren district increased the death toll in the State at 678, of which 15 had comorbid conditions, he said.
Altogether 1,028 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other states, he said.
Thus far, a total of 389,777 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 110,614 on RT-PCR, 85,102 on TrueNat and 194,061 on Rapid Antigen Test, Dr Kikon said.
A total of 11,64,695 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 704,836 persons as on Thursday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,957 are frontline workers, 15,998 are healthcare professionals, 201,207 are people above 45 years and 426,674 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.
A total of 459,859 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 47,796 frontline workers, 13,355 healthcare workers, 155,020 people above 45 years and 243,688 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr. (Page News Service)
