COVID-19 Nagaland: 145 fresh infections & 2 deaths

KOHIMA, AUGUST 4: Nagaland reported detection of 145 fresh infections increasing the COVID-19 tally to 28,217 and 2 deaths have taken the death toll to 579 today.

“145 positive cases detected today are Kohima: 49, Dimapur: 36, Mokokchung: 16, Longleng: 15, Peren: 10, Wokha: 6, Zunheboto: 5, Phek: 4, Kiphire: 3 and Mon: 1”, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
He also said that 79 positive patients ~ Kohima: 42, Mon: 11, Dimapur: 10, Mokokchung: 5, Kiphire & Phek: 4 each and Zunheboto: 3 ~ recovered during the day increasing the number of recovered persons to 25,516 persons.
There are 1,321 active patients of which 201 are with mild symptoms, 25 are moderate on oxygen, 14 severe on oxygen, 9 critical in ICU without ventilator, and 6 on ventilator, while 1,066 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
Demise of 2 positive patients, 1 each in Dimapur and Mokokchung districts has increased the death toll in the State to 579, of which 14 patients had co-morbid conditions, he said.
So far, a total of 269,624 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 103,237 on RT-PCR, 68,825 on TrueNat, and 97,562 on Rapid Antigen Test, said Dr Kikon.
Nagaland administered a total of 778,153 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 623,951 persons as on Tuesday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,816 are frontline workers, 15,974 are healthcare professionals, 186,597 are people above 45 years and 360,564 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.

A total of 154,202 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 39,876 frontline workers, 12,519 healthcare workers, 101,457 people above 45 years and 350 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
