COVID-19 Nagaland: 14 positive cases, 17 recoveries, 1 death


KOHIMA, OCTOBER 19: Nagaland’s COVID-19 confirmed cases increased to 31,641 with detection of 14 positive cases while death toll surged to 676 today.

“14 positive cases detected today are – Dimapur: 10, Mokokchung: 3 and Kohima: 1”, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
He also said that 17 positive patients ~ Dimapur: 7, Kohima & Phek: 4 each and Mokokchung: 2 ~ recovered during the last 24 hours taking the recovered persons tally to 29,693 with the recovery rate at 93.84%.
There are 247 active patients, of who 52 have mild symptoms, 6 are moderate and 11 severe while 178 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
Demise of a positive patient in Dimapur district has increased the death toll in the State at 676, of which 15 had co-morbid conditions, he said.
Altogether 1,025 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
Thus far, a total of 387,814 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 110,511 on RT-PCR, 84,795 on TrueNat and 192,508 on Rapid Antigen Test, Dr Kikon said.
A total of 11,48,877 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 702,603 persons as on Monday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,957 are frontline workers, 15,998 are healthcare professionals, 200,861 are people above 45 years and 424,787 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.

A total of 446,274 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 47,768 frontline workers, 13,344 healthcare workers, 152,590 people above 45 years and 232,572 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
