COVID-19 Nagaland: 11 fresh infections, 19 recoveries


KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 3: Nagaland today reported 11 fresh COVID-19 infections, 19 recoveries and 1 death, as the tally of overall COVID cases increased to 31,879.

The positive cases detected today include 9 in Dimapur, and 1 each in Mokokchung and Phek districts, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
He also said that 19 positive patients ~ Dimapur: 13, Kohima: 2 and Longleng, Mokokchung, Phek and Tuensang: 1 each ~ recovered during the last 24 hours, taking the recovered persons tally to 29,951 with the recovery rate at 93.95%.
There are 195 active patients, of who 23 have mild symptoms, 4 are moderate and 7 severe while 161 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
Demise of a positive patient in Tuensang district has increased the death toll in the State to 687, of whom 15 had co-morbid conditions, he said.
Altogether 1,046 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
Thus far, a total of 397,352 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 111,035 on RT-PCR, 86,274 on TrueNat and 2,00,043 on Rapid Antigen Test, Dr Kikon said.
A total of 12,10,994 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 712,621 persons as on Tuesday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.

Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,961 are frontline workers, 15,998 are healthcare professionals, 202,670 are people above 45 years and 432,992 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.
A total of 498,373 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 48,006 frontline workers, 13,383 healthcare workers, 162,619 people above 45 years and 274,365 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
