COVID-19 Nagaland: 106 new cases, 1 death

KOHIMA, AUGUST 7: Nagaland’s COVID-19 positive cases increased to 28,551 with detection of 106 fresh cases today.
“106 positive cases detected today are Dimapur: 36, Peren: 27, Kohima: 15, Mokokchung: 12, Zunheboto: 5, Wokha: 4, Tuensang: 3, Phek: 2, and Longleng & Mon: 1 each”, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.


He also said that 75 positive patients ~ Kohima: 45, Dimapur: 19, Mokokchung: 5, Peren: 3 Phek: 2 and Longleng: 1 ~ recovered during the day increasing the number of recovered persons to 25,757 persons.
The recovery rate in the State stands at 90.21%.
There are 1,398 active patients of which 212 are with mild symptoms, 23 are moderate on oxygen, 16 severe on oxygen, 8 critical in ICU without a ventilator, and 7 on ventilator, while 1,132 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
Demise of a positive patient in Mon district has increased the death toll in the State to 583, of which 14 patients had co-morbid conditions, he said.
Altogether 813 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
So far, a total of 275,755 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 103,943 on RT-PCR, 69,655 on TrueNat, and 102,157 on Rapid Antigen Test, said Dr Kikon.
Nagaland administered a total of 787,111 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 629,510 persons as of Friday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,827 are frontline workers, 15,978 are healthcare professionals, 187,685 are people above 45 years and 365,020 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.


A total of 157,601 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 40,785 frontline workers, 12,586 healthcare workers, 103,815 people above 45 years and 415 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
