Coordination meetings held at Longleng on JSA


Dimapur, July 19: In connection with Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA), coordination meetings of the line departments with the visiting central team was held on July 15 and 16 at DC’s conference hall, Longleng. The two central team Minga Sherpa IAS and Dharan IAS along with the District Administration and heads of offices of the line departments also visited Hukphang and Lingtak village during the field visits. During the field visits projects related to Water Shed Management, Irrigations, Ponds, Traditional Wells, etc were shown to the central team. After the site visits they also held a meeting with the village council members and public to have better knowledge of water cycle in their respective villages and also to learn the grievance faced by the general mass.
On July 16 another coordination meeting of Jal Shakti Abhiyan was conducted at DC’s conference hall, Longleng under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng John Tsulise Sangtam. The DC welcomed the members present followed by self introduction by the officers. The nodal officer, Jal Shakti Abhiyan Vineet Joshei highlighted about the Jal Shakti Abhiyan Projects and encourages the officers to work harder to cater to the needs of the people.
He spoke about the IWMP projects and the importance of water conservation and how we can rejuvenate the existing ponds & wells or structure and also to frame a plan for proper implementation of the projects. Later the DPO Land resource Department, Longleng presented the departmental activities through Power Point Presentation.
