Dimapur, November 17: A co-ordination meeting of District Task Force (DTF) to discuss modalities for implementation of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ 2019-20 was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha on November 16.
ADC Wokha, Mhathung Tsanglao who chaired the meeting requested all line departments to prepare and submit action plan to be taken up from January to March 2020. He also reviewed and discussed the various programmes conducted during the past months and suggested to make improvements where shortfalls are detected.
The ADC stated that this time activities for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao will be focused more at the block level/grass root level and requested all line departments to converge plans and extend fullest co-operation.
SDO (C) Wokha, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS requested the Department of Education to take active part and give more effort and work for the welfare of the girl child. He also asked to submit detailed list of girls drop-out students and list of meritorious students.
In the meeting, upcoming activities to be taken up during the month of November and December 2019 such as awareness on PC & PNDT Act, sensitization at Wozhuro range, Humtso village, Chukitong village, Meriyan village, 16 days activities kick off walkathon, medical camp at Sungro Block, awareness on empowering persons with disabilities, health care facilities and information on existing schemes, village health and nutrition day, block level singing competition (group) on BBBP anthem and painting competition at children’s home. Financial status for the first installment for 2019-20 was also deliberated in the meeting.
