BHOPAL, December 13: Congress leader and former minister Raja Pateria was arrested from his residence in Damoh district on Tuesday in connection with his alleged, “Modi murder” remarks by Panna police.
A day before on Monday, a case was registered against Pateria at Pawai police station in Panna district under sections 451, 504, 505 (1) (B), 505 (1)( C), 506, 153-B (1) (C ) of Indian penal code.
Talking to TOI, Pawai police station incharge, DK Singh said, “He is being produced in court”.
Panna police arrested Pateria from his residence in Hata of Damoh district around 5.30 am on Tuesday, after which he was taken to Pawai community health centre for medical examinations. He is being produced before a local court.
Earlier on Sunday, Pateria had allegedly made the remarks at a meeting of congress workers at Pawai rest house in Panna district. In a video that went viral he could purportedly be heard saying, “You should be ready to carry out ‘Modi ki Hatya’, ‘Hatya’ in the sense of defeating him”. (TNN)
