Cong demands re-poll at Yimjenkimong village

Dimapur, April 11: The state Congress, Yimjenkimong unit has demanded re-polling at Yimjenkimong village under 30 Alongdaki A/C citing various reasons.
In a letter to Assistant Returning Officer, Mokokchung, President of the Congress unit of Yimjenkimong, Kari Tzudir and general secretary, Yongdang alleged that the village council members, IR jawans did not allow the Congress/NPC supporters even to come to the polling station.
They stated that when the Magistrate visited the polling station at around 8.30 a.m. today, they were allowed to cast vote by producing Aadhar Card. However, the village council again declared after the magistrate left that nobody would be allowed to cast vote except BJP.
The Congress further alleged that the polling agent of Congress party was allowed by the Presiding officer to enter the station in the beginning but he was chased out by the Presiding Officer as and when the Congress agent rejected the BJP voters on charges of malpractice.
It also alleged that the Presiding Officer had asked the Congress supporters to collect voter’s slip from the BLO around 10.45 a.m., which is totally against the election code of conduct and it speaks volumes of discrimination among the different parties.
Highlighting some other ‘malpractices’ the Congress demanded re-polling in Yimjenkimong village.
