Competitions mark International Literacy Day

Dimapur, September 8: A virtual competition on slogan writing and essay competition was held to celebrate International Literacy Day on September 8, on the theme ‘Literacy for a human-centred recovery: Narrowing the digital divide’.

In slogan writing competition (junior category) 1st position was won by Sharon T Humtsoe, Don Bosco Hr. Sec School Dimapur (DBHSS); 2nd position by Hruman Das from Livingstone International School (LFI); and 3rd position Akokla from St. Xavier’s School Dimapur.
In slogan writing (senior category) 1st position was won by Bonovili Chishi (LFI); 2nd position by Likao M Patton, Trinity Theological College; and 3rd position by Esther Yhoshu, Dimapur Government College.
In essay writing competition (junior category) 1st position was won by Ongba Angto, 2nd position by Imlijungla Aier, third position by Wabong Temjen Walling from LFI.
In essay writing competition (senior category) 1st position was won by Pilano L Ovung from DBHSS Dimapur; 2nd position by Alumdi from Tetso College; and 3rd position by Chokjenchila T Jamir from LFI.

The winners will be getting certificates and trophies and all the other 64 participants will be getting e-certificate for their participation.
The panel of judges were Dr. Rhondemo A Kikon, Lanusangla Jamir, Vitono Haralu and Loreni Sophia. The Virtual Competition was organized by District Level Centre for Women-Mahila Shakti Kendra, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Dimapur and Community Health Initiative NGO (Menstrual Initiative Nagaland).
