Combat Sports Festival from Oct 23 in Kohima

Nepali wrestler among 18 heavy weights for Naga Wrestling Mania

Kohima, October 21: Combat Sports Festival 2018 organized by 3E (Elite Entertainment Enterprise) Nagaland will be held from October 23-27 at Kohima Local Ground Khuochiezie.
The festival will have two segments – Naga wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
The Naga wrestling event also known as NagaWrestleMania7 (King Of The Ring Series 2018) will be held on October 23. NPF MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro will grace the inaugural session at 10:00 am.
The two categories of Naga style wrestling – Lightweight (74 kg and below) and Heavyweight category (above 74 kg) will undergo their respective preliminary rounds and after reaching the last 16, they will be clubbed together to play the King Of The Ring Championship.
The light weight has 34 wrestlers while heavy weight has 18 wrestlers.
Some prominent wrestlers who will in action are reigning NWA champion Menuosetuo Yiese, reigning King Of The Ring and CWA champion Venuzo Dawhuo, reigning NagaWrestleMania heavyweight champion Dzieselatuo Keretsü, newest sensation and reigning ASA champion Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü, first ever Heavyweight champion and veteran Khrievotuo Sekhose.
Another attraction will be the only outsider Rahul Rai who weighs 96 kg and is a top contender.
The cash prizes will be as follows – King Of The Ring Champion – Rs. 1.2 lakh, Runners-up – Rs. 60,000, Losing 16 – Rs. 3000 each, Losing 8 – Rs. 5000 each, Losing QF – Rs. 8000 each, Fourth place – Rs. 15,000 and Third place – Rs. 30,000 .
The organizers have informed that gallery tickets have been priced at Rs. 100 while chair ticket is Rs. 150.
Meanwhile, the organizers informed that Mixed Martial Arts event will be X1 Championship to be held on October 26 & 27 at 5:00 pm on both days.
This fighting championship is sanctioned by MMA India and 32 fighters from all over the country, a good number of which are from the NE region, particularly Nagaland, representing different gyms in Kohima and Dimapur, will take part in the event. Tickets for the MMA event are – Gallery Rs. 100 and Chair Rs. 200. The fight cards for the 2-day event will be available very shortly.
