Col. CK Nayudu Trophy: Nagaland at 50 for 1 on Day 1

Dimapur, February 18: At the close of play (Day-1) of the final match of the Col. CK Nayudu Trophy which is being played in Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima from February 18 to 21, Nagaland ended on 50 for one in their first innings, trailing Meghalaya by 58 runs. This after Meghalaya were bowled out for 108 runs.
After losing their first wicket at 26 runs, Meghalaya could not recover as Neizekho (3/34) and Raja Swarnkar ( 3/23) went through the remaining batsman without much difficulty. Hem Bahadur the captain of Nagaland also chipped in with two wickets. For Meghalaya only Bharali gave some resistance but was unfortunately Run out when he was on 43 runs.
Nagaland inning got off with a first ball wicket as Zipa totally misjudged an incoming ball from Abhishek as his stumps were rattled while leaving the ball. After the fall of the first wicket, Mughavi and Samuel sensible batting took Nagaland team to the score of 50 runs without the loss of any further wicket until the umpires called off the Day due to bad light.
Nagaland will resume their inning tomorrow and try to put as many runs as possible on the board but would also be cautious of taking the first inning lead first thing in the morning.
Day-2 looks to be a make or break day for both the teams as it will most likely determine the outcome of the remaining days of the match.
