Dimapur, May 8: A programme to inaugurate a coffee bar and distribute coffee pulper machines was held at DPO Office LRD Longleng on May 7, with M Shayung Phom, Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, as special guest.
The DC congratulated the Land Resource Department for coming up with a new coffee bar in the district.
He also urged the people to strictly follow SOPs and guidelines issued by the government. The District Administration, Police and Heath Department are compelled to work for the “smooth functioning of the district, but many villages have shown non co-operation during the vaccination drive and only very few villagers got vaccinated”, he said.
The DC encouraged all individuals to spread awareness within villages and community to avail vaccines at the earliest.
He urged the farmers to approach the department officials and clear any doubts they might have about the machines.
District Project Officer, LRD Longleng, Kughalu Chishi urged the farmers to grow more coffee and to educate e fellow farmers about the benefits of coffee plantation.
Executive secretary of PBCA, Tialemba said that due to COVID-19 pandemic, the scenario has changed. He said that we should not only be consumers but also producers, especially coffee, and export the produce to other parts of the world. (Page News Service)
