Dimapur, August 13: The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has fully endorsed the stand of the 14 tribes of Nagaland, Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) in opposing change of interlocutor of Naga talks, RN Ravi at this crucial juncture.
While appreciating all the negotiating parties for their sacrifices, wisdom and endurance for the Naga people throughout these years, the Naga people who have enough of bloodshed are now waiting eagerly for a peaceful lasting solution to be arrived at. Yet demanding to change the interlocutor at this time when conclusion of the talks seems so near is nothing short of a ploy of playing delaying tactics and a nefarious scheme during these final moments of the solution in order to prolong the talks and to let all those years of much hard earned negotiations to go in vain again,” said a statement issued by the media cell, CNTC.
Stating that the Naga civil societies, churches and the people have also invested a lot of their time, energy, resources together with all their prayers for the talks that have come this far which is now finally about to come to a logical conclusion, the CNTC said no group should try to “thwart or sabotage this hard earned peace process”. It appealed to all the negotiating groups to come together for a lasting peace in the land in the spirit of unity and oneness.
The Central Nagaland Tribes Council also supported the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization’s (ENPO) demand on making all the agreed points between the negotiating parties public.
“The Naga public deserves to know what is in store for them in the final agreement of the negotiating entities and demanded that it’s time to disclose the details of the long awaited solution which is finally about to come to a conclusion,” it stated. (Page News Service)
