CNTC extends solidarity to new NCD team

Dimapur, August 26: The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has extended solidarity to the new Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) team and assured its full cooperation and service whenever required for peace, harmony and unity of the denizens of Dimapur.
In a release, CNTC said the NCD being one the most oldest organization of Dimapur which dates its formation to way back in 1949 has endured tremendous trials, hardship and sacrificed a lot for the Nagas.
Even before the Dimapur town came into being, which was then only a little hamlet and most Nagas dwelt in the villages, it was the Naga Council Dimapur which engaged in pioneering works for the early Naga settlers of Dimapur town. The pioneers who formed the NCD were truly far sighted, visionary and courageous leaders who had laid great plans for the Nagas in Dimapur. The present Nagas of Dimapur town should owe their gratitude to the NCD for their services, it said.
“Dimapur today has grown into a huge cosmopolitan city with people of every ethnic background residing here which resembles a mini-India and has emerged as state’s main commercial hub of which due credit should be given to the Naga Council Dimapur.”
The CNTC appealed all to join hands and work for all the Nagas in particular and non-Nagas in general and “this will happen only if we strengthen this oldest institution.”
“As humans everyone has their own omissions and commissions which we have to sometimes overlook in order to progress and live in harmony,” it said.
The CNTC lauded Bangerloba Ao, former president and the team for their able leadership and in being able to complete the construction of the new Naga cemetery as the old one has now fully run out of space for burials. This is one yeomen service of the Naga Council Dimapur which is praiseworthy by everyone as during this pandemic situation, disposal of dead bodies had become a matter of grave concern for all, it said.
The CNTC hoped that NCD will continue to zealously work for the denizens of Dimapur in the days to come and overcomes whatever challenges that may comes its way with all the Nagas standing in unity.
The CNTC further expressed its happiness on the newly elected team led by K Ghokheto Chophy and assured that it will give its fullest support for the well being of all the people of Dimapur. It appealed to all to shun their differences and work hand in hand for a progressive and harmonious society.
