Dimapur, November 1: The Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) had demanded resignation of Nagaland BJP President, Temjen Imna Along for hurting the sentiments of the Nagas while “pleasing BJP/RSS at Delhi”.
In a statement, CNSA president, Charles Lotha, Secretary, Finance, Khuketo Yepthoi, General Secretary, Yimlarang and Vice President, Nihoyi Kinimi stated that the change of guard of the BJP at the state level, making Temjen Imna Along as the President, BJP Nagaland, seems to have deeply rooted in Hinduism.
“The efforts to submerge the ashes of late Atal Bihar Vajpayee in the middle of the state with Hindu rituals and system and passing an order to paint the symbol of BJP at every polling station, which are normally educational institutions or a community property, has been the biggest challenge for the young Nagas as well as the biggest threat for the religious harmony of the Nagas,” the CNSA stated.
The Association said the BJP President may be trying to please his senior and higher ranking RSS at the Centre for benefit and comfort, but as true Naga Christian should uphold “our faith with dignity, secularism and tranquility.”
The CNSA said he would own moral responsibility for the disgraceful act and resign with apology for hurting the sentiments of the Nagas while pleasing BJP/RSS in Delhi.
