CMO Tuensang conducts awareness on COVID-19


Dimapur, February 16: The Chief Medical Office Tuensang conducted awareness meeting and campaign on COVID-19 (Novel Corona Virus), at New Pangsha under Noklak Block on February 13. The team was led by Chief Medical Officer Tuensang, Dr Temjenmoa along with Dr John Shupao, Epidemiologist IDSP, Dr Yanrenthung SMO (DH) and Dr Senti MO Pangsha PHC.
The doctors visited Assam rifles check gate, International Trade Centre (ITC) at Dan (Pangsha) and met officers and jawans manning the gate and briefed them on COVID-19 (Novel Corona Virus) outbreak in China and instructed them to be vigilant with the movement of people along the border.
The team also conducted the awareness meeting at New Pangsha with chairman, GBs, village guard of Pangsha range, Yangkhao and Chingyu village from Tobu area.
A separate meeting also was conducted with Khiamniungan public leaders at Noklak CHC and briefed about the disease.
All the health units along the border of Myanmar in Tuensang District have also been alerted. Staffs were sensitized about the disease and its preventive measures were explained. Health units reporting for IDSP were instructed to be watchful for unusual increase in cases of acute respiratory tract infection/influenza like illnesses and report promptly to DSU IDSP.
