Kiphire, April 21: Medical team from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire led by Dr Pewezo Khalo, DPO (RCH/UIP) conducted sensitizing tour for ASHAs and Anganwadi workers, including health units and village council members, under Kiphire district on April 17-18.
During the tour the medical team distributed hand sanitizers, masks, and gloves to all the ASHAs and Anganwadi workers in the villages, including health units. Also, masks were distributed to the Village Guards manning their respective village gates. A total of 100 kilograms of rice were also distributed across all the health units, while 20 kilograms were given to Longmatra check post.
The DPO interacted with health workers and village council leaders in all the villages addressing their requirements and instructing them about the work they should do in the fight against the Covid-19. He urged them to maintain discipline at their level and work together.
The DPO instructed them to sensitize families especially on setting up hand washing stand in all their houses with soap and water, wherein, all the family members must wash their hands on exiting and entering their homes. The DPO emphasized on hygiene and sanitation, including the practice of social distance, cleanliness, and social etiquette of spitting, sneezing, and coughing.
Seli (DCM) also interacted with the ASHAs and Anganwadi workers in all the villages. He directed the ASHAs to visit 25 households in their villages a day to monitor their wellbeing.
The medical team covered 14 villages, including Kiusam circle, Pungro circle, and Longmatra town in a span of two days. (Page News Service)
