CM takes oath as patron of NSBSG; Er. Zale Neikha inducted as president


Kohima, May 9: The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) on Tuesday called on Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his residential office to conduct the reaffirmation of oath as patron of NSBSG in the presence of Er. Zale Neikha, Advisor, Youth Resources and Sports who was also inducted as the President of NSBSG.
Chief Minister Rio, who is also the recipient of the highest award, the ‘Silver Elephant’, expressed his delight on availing the opportunity to work together again for the 4th time as the Patron and said, “It is more a pleasure to serve than to be served. It is my honour.”
Recalling his young student days in the early 1960s as a Scout, the Chief Minister expressed his appreciation to the Scouts and Guides for their selfless service in numerous ways.
“It is a pleasure to see young people in uniform serving the people. Their uniform projects a sense of responsibility,” Rio said and added that it is an honour to be associated with young people in the course of public service.
Congratulating Er. Zale Neikha, Advisor YR&S and newly inducted President of NSBSG, the Chief Minister said that he looked forward to work with young and energetic leaders and assured to extend full support. Stating that one learns new things when like-minded people work together, Rio hoped that there will be more activities and events in the days to come so that the people can learn more about the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Delivering his acceptance speech, Er. Zale Neikha expressed his gratitude to the NSBSG for inducting him as the President. Stating that it was an honour for him, the Advisor assured to work to the best of his abilities under the Chief Minister whom he described as his mentor.
In his brief welcome address, State Chief Commissioner, NSBSG, Atuo Mezhur Sekhose congratulated the Chief Minister and the Advisor on the occasion and said that the NSBSG looks forward to their support in the days to come.
The Chief Minister also handed the Warrant Certificates to Atuo Mezhur Sekhose, State Chief Commissioner, NSBSG and to Thejazeü Khruomo, State Commissioner (Guides). The induction and reaffirmation ceremonies were conducted by John Tochimong, State Org. Commissioner (Scouts).
The programme was chaired by Chubanungla, State Secretary, NSBSG while vote of thanks was proposed by K. Neibou Sekhose.
