DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 17: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the State Data Center (SDC) constructed under National Hydrology Project at the chief engineer’s office, Water Resources Department, Kohima on February 17.
Rio said that the main objective of the National Hydrology Project is to improve the extent, quality and accessibility of water resources information and to strengthen the capacity of water resources management institution all over the state.
He further said that with the State Data Center in place, it will serve as a hub for real-time and long-term data management, and operational control system.
He called upon the officials of the Water Resources Department to take the lead in educating the people for proper management as Nagaland receives one of the highest rainfall in the country.
Advisor for Water Resources, Namri Nchang stated that with the setting of State Data Center, the department will be collecting and compiling all the manual data from all the centers on daily basis and will exchange with other agencies under the National Hydrology Project and stakeholders.
