Dimapur, April 29: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the 11th NAP (IR) Battalion Hq. on Thursday in presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Y. Patton, MLA Eshak, MLA CL John, EE Pangteang and Thongwang.
In his address, Rio expressed happiness on the completion of the building despite all hardship since the laying of the foundation in 2005, and thanked the technicians, neighbouring villages and jawans.
The Chief Minister said that 11th NAP (IR) has a good name and fame, not only within the state but also in other states as they are well trained and people have much respect for them. He encouraged them, wherever they may be, to take more responsibility and continue to be sincere in their duty and protect the public.
Rio also called upon the public and the neighboring villages to cooperate with the jawans and called for mutual understanding and adjustment for peace and unity in the society.
He further urged the public to be more careful in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, stating that the second wave is more dangerous and encouraged all to take COVID-19 vaccine.
Deputy Chief Minister & Home Minister Y Patton lamented at the delay of the inauguration due to various reasons. However, he expressed happiness on successful completion of the project. He also thanked the land owner for donating the land.
DGP, Nagaland. T. John Longkumer, IPS in his short speech urged the neighbouring villages and the public to be supportive and sought for their cooperation
Short speeches were delivered by KU president Howing, Langmeing Angh and Maopong.
