Nagaland CM, Dy CM, 4 Ministers under quarantine

Dimapur/Kohima, July 16: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton along with 4 Cabinet Ministers has gone into quarantine after they returned from Delhi on Thursday.
While the CM and two Cabinet Ministers are in self-quarantine, the Deputy CM and two Cabinet colleagues are in institutional quarantine (paid quarantine at Niathu Resort).
Taking to twitter, Rio said he is on self quarantine on his return to Nagaland from Delhi.
“As a precautionary measure, I’m on self quarantine on my return to Nagaland from Delhi. Taking precautions to ensure safety of others & myself,” the CM tweeted Thursday afternoon.
But Rio said he will continue to discharge his duties while on self quarantine. “Will continue discharging duties,” he said while requesting all to follow official advisories/guidelines, wear mask, maintain social distancing and observe hygiene. Sources said the CM along with Agriculture Minister Kaito Aye, Planning Minister Neiba Kronu, PRO to CM, Rusemtong Longkumer and OSD (Security) to CM, Kenesa Dawhuo landed at Dimapur Airport from Delhi today.
They have all gone into self quarantine and they are likely to be tested for COVID-19 on Saturday, sources said.
On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton along with Health & Family Welfare Minister Pangyu Phom and PHED Minister Jacob Zhimomi landed at Dimapur by chopper Thursday afternoon from Guwahati Airport. They had earlier landed at Guwahati from Delhi.
The three legislators on arrival at the airport underwent thermal screening and filled up necessary details, and were then transported by ambulance to institutional quarantine center for undergoing necessary quarantine protocols, despite their initial tests in Dimapur and subsequent Truenat tests at Delhi returning negative.
The legislators will be undergoing another test within a few days time.
Patton tweeted, “My colleagues and I have reached Nagaland. While we tested negative for the virus in Delhi as well as in Nagaland, for the safety of everyone, we’ll be under Institutional Quarantine as per the existing COVID-19 SOP in the State. Nevertheless, I’ll keep discharging my duties”.
We did not meet each other: Kronu
Planning Minister, Neiba Kronu, who had accompanied the CM to Delhi along with Minister Kaito, said they had flown to Delhi on a chartered flight on Sunday and stayed at the Chief Minister’s residence in Delhi.
Kronu, who is also the Government spokesperson on COVID-19, said they returned Thursday after meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah and national BJP president JP Nadda together on the first day and Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh the next day.
Allaying peoples doubt that the three of them, including the CM, were together with Nagaland Deputy CM and other 4 BJP legislators of the State who were also in Delhi, Kronu said they did not meet each other as the purpose of their visit was different.
2 legislators in isolation at Delhi
He said following reports that the driver of the car of Nagaland House in which Minister Kashiho Sangtam and MLA Dr Longrineken had traveled tested COVID-19 positive, the two of them, though tested negative, are in isolation in Delhi as part of contact tracing and containment measures.
Kronu said the CM and two of them returned in the chartered flight and landed in Dimapur today and have put themselves in home quarantine for 14 days as necessitated by the SOP. During the period of quarantine, Kronu said they will not entertain any public interview while official duty will also be taken up only if it is of very urgent necessity but by following all protocols.
Kronu also confirmed that Deputy CM Y Patton, Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom and PHE Minister Jacob Zhimomi while following the SOP have kept themselves in paid quarantine facility at Niathu Resort in Dimapur.
