CM, Dy CM condole Karunanidhi’s demise

Dimapur, August 7: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed grief at the demise of Thiru M. Karunanidhi, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
“He was one of the tallest leaders who made significant contributions to the development of Tamil Nadu and towards the progress of the country. He has few parallels and was an iconic leader of a regional party that achieved recognition even at the national level and was an inspiration to the entire political class, especially to regional parties all over the country,” he said, adding his demise is a great loss for Tamil Nadu and the country is poorer with his absence.
The CM conveyed deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty God to let his soul rest in peace.
Dy CM: Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has also expressed grief at the demise of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi today.
The DMK under the leadership of the nonagenarian leader as its President had played enormous role in Tamil Nadu politics which the people will continue to remember for long, he said.
Patton expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and Tamilians across the globe and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
NDPP: The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has expressed grief over the demise of Karunanidhi, veteran political leader from Tamil Nadu, today at the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai.
“As one of the tallest regional leader who was acknowledged even at the national level, late Karunanidhi was and will remain an inspiration to all regional parties,” said NDPP president Chingwang Konyak in a condolence message.
The NDPP extended deepest condolences to the people of Tamil Nadu and Tamilians around the word in this hour of grief, and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace. (Page News Service)
