Dimapur, April 12: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed grief at the demise of Lt. Col. Dina Nath Chauhan on April 11, at Military Hospital, Jakhama, Kohima.
Lt. Col. Dina Nath Chauhan lived a full life in the service of the nation and served at various locations across the country including Mokokchung, Nagaland from 1961 to 1963, said the CM in a condolence message.
Lt.Col. Dina Nath Chauhan was a brave soldier and was very active and alert even at the ripe age of 93. His love and affection for Nagaland was obvious when he decided to join his son Lt. Gen. Shokin Chauhan when he was posted as Chairman, Ceasefire Monitoring Group in 2018. In his demise nation has lost a brave and valiant soldier and we have lost a friend of Nagaland, he said.
The CM conveyed deepest condolences to the family members of late Lt. Col. Dina Nath Chauhan and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
The NSCN (Reformation) has also expressed pain at the demise of Lt.Col. (Retd) Dinanath Chauhan, father of Lt. Gen.(Retd) Shokin Chauhan, Chairman CFSB/CFMG.
Late Dinanath Chauhan served in Indian Army under various capacities till his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel. He leaves behind his legacy as a father, a gentlemen and an officer to his children and progeny, it said.
The NSCN (R) prayed that the Lord rest his soul in peace and also provide solace to his family members and friends during their time of grief.
