CM Chang visits Peren Forest Division

Dimapur, June 23: Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Parliamentary Affairs CM Chang visited Peren Forest Division, interacted with the staffs, visited Central Nursery, plantation sites, office, guest house and also inaugurated Forest Resource Centre at Jalukie. He was accompanied by H Haiyong, Advisor to Prisons, Printing and Stationery, Bongkhao Konyak, Advisor to DUDA, Limaonen, OSD to CM, H Chuba Chang, former Minister.
The DFO Dr Sentitula, IFS highlighted the achievements of the division. She mentioned that with the joint effort of the officers and the staff, this year has recorded the highest revenue earning as compared with the last 5 years data with an increase of 20 lakhs. She also highlighted the successful achievement of plantation drive as announced by the CM on June 5.
The Minister encouraged the staffs to work hard and increase the Government revenue. He encouraged to go for more plantation and the department should acquire land for plantation since in community land we are unable to implement Forest Acts and Rules.
Bongkhao, Advisor to DUDA also congratulated the DFO and the staffs for working hard and reminded that it is a blessing to work in the Forest Department and being so close to the nature. The interaction was followed by ceremonial plantation in the range office complex by the Forest Minister and others. (Page News Service)
