City bus service to be introduced in Dimapur from September

Dimapur, August 14: For the benefit of the citizens of Dimapur, city bus services would be operational from 1st week of September 2018. This was approved during the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board meeting held on August 14 in the conference of DC Dimapur.
Elected members under Dimapur district including Deputy Speaker Zhaleo Rio, Advisor Power also Chairman DPDB Dimapur Tovihoto and MLA Moatoshi attended the meeting and actively took part in the deliberation.
Tovihoto observed operation of city bus service in Dimapur as a long felt need of the general public. Initially 4 buses would ply from Dimapur to Chumukedima – Chumukedima to Dimapur. Fleet of 10 more buses under renovation will be coming soon and for which the House agreed to extend the bus services to Medzhiphema, Niuland, Doyapur etc later on.
AGM, Nagaland State Transport, Thomas informed that 2 pink buses will ferry only ladies from Dimapur to Kohima. Transport department sought the cooperation of District administration, Police, traffic, DMC and all the stakeholders for successful operation of city bus service in Dimapur. In the meeting, all the elected members expressed concern with regard to the requirement of Dimapur district hospital.
In view of this the House unanimously agreed to write to the medical department and put up the requirements on priority.
With regard to the approach road from the main road to the Dimapur district hospital compound, the EE assured to take up the work in the next phase. The House also decided to write to the Commissioner Police for deputing traffic police in the hospital compound.
The House also approved the LADP schemes 2018-19, compiled with a view to uplift the lower strata of the society, and decided to sent to the State Planning Board for approval.
On the agenda for opening of new schools, the House passed for approval of VB Infant Digital Home (Pre- School) at Kevija-u Colony; Zakierhi Shuya Memorial School, Chumukedima village; and Veneiye Public School, Razaphe Basa.
With regard to the agenda for upgradation of schools, the Board decided to take up in the next sitting after re- verification from the district administration.
On the agenda for registration of societies, the House decided to approve to the government, for registration of Institute of Naga Studies, Dimapur and Nagaland Ayurveda & Folk Medicine Society Dimapur as all the documents was found in order.
For the rest of the societies seeking for registration the House informed the concern society members to explain their aims and objectives during the next meeting.
In the meeting Medical department and district Agriculture office gave their departmental presentation. Deputy Commissioner office was entrusted to present their departmental activities in the next meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel informed all the HODs to be present in the ground by 8:30 am for successful celebration of Independence Day. (Page News Service)
