Kohima, May 7: The Nagaland Chapter of Confederation of Indian Tribal Entrepreneurs (CITE) as part of StartUp India programme under Department of Industries and Commerce Nagaland was launched by Commissioner and Secretary of industries and Commerce, Lithrongla G. Chishi here today.
Addressing the gathering during the launching ceremony, Lithrongla said in her address said CITE Nagaland chapter would be an opportunity for the aspiring entrepreneurs in the State to move ahead and therefore they should avail the funds provided for different business.
On behalf of the state government, she assured that the government would be the facilitator and create awareness to give loan for those willing to start up their own businesses.
She urged the entrepreneurs to know their rights and avail the opportunity to strive forward as this was the national level programme under StartUp India.
Expressing that Nagaland has lots of opportunities if one utilizes it to the fullest, she however reminded the entrepreneurs the need of work ethics and discipline.
Pointing out that many Naga entrepreneurs failed due to lack of continuity, sincerity and lack of proper planning to run their business, she challenged the Naga people to initiate their own business instead of always depending on grant in aid from the government.
Lithrongla advised the Naga entrepreneurs to break the social barriers that prevent them from moving further.
Director (non-official) of National Scheduled Tribe Finance Development Corporation, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Johny G. Rengma in his keynote address said the launching of this confederation would help entrepreneurs to avail financial loan at the rate of 6% per annum to start their business.
He however said that the beneficiaries should timely return the loan amount in order to maintain cash flow with the financial institutions, lest the state cooperate would be defunct.
Rengma said to avail the loan one should fulfill the criteria and guideline of the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) as Industries and Commerce Department would be the nodal department for availing loan which is as per the strict guideline the Government of India.
Joint Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Sentiwapang chaired the programme while welcome address delivered by Director of Industries and Commerce I. Bendangliba.
