Chümoukedima beat Peren by 9 wickets; Niuland defeat Tseminyu

4th Late G Rio Memorial Men’s U-19 inter-district cricket

Dimapur, March 28: In the ongoing 4th Late G Rio Memorial Men’s U-19 inter-district cricket tournament played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chumoukedima beat Peren by 9 wickets.
Peren could not put up the show after opting to bat first as they were bowled out for 66 runs (21.1 overs). Only Amit Marak (19 runs) and Bishu (19 runs) stood up to the occasion however they were not able to convert it to bigger runs.
For Chümoukedima , Aloto Sumi took a spectacular 5 wickets which was well supported by Ravi and Anungsang Lemtur who bagged 3 wickets and 1 wicket respectively.
Meanwhile, at Sovima Cricket Ground, Niuland defeated Tseminyu by 9 wickets to book their place in the Semi-final.
Tseminyu were bowled out for 43 runs (10.4 overs) after having won the toss and elected to bat first. Gwakenye Khing (10 runs) was the only notable batter as the other batters gave away their wickets without bothering the score card. Lovito Momin 3 wickets, Abhijeet 2 wickets and Sujit & Adze 1 wicket were the wicket takers for Niuland.
In the run chase, Niuland comfortably reached the target in 6.1 overs losing a wicket. For Tseminyu, Hyunyelo Khing took the lone wicket.
