Chozuba town road Contractor clarifies

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, MAY 15: While appreciating the local MLA of Chozuba A/C and Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo for his concern about quality of work in Chozuba town, the contractor today clarified that that the construction of the Chozuba town road is progressing well while the social media post to which Kudecho Khamo reacted was “when the contractor was trying to clear the unwanted weeds which had sprouted on the surface while the work had stopped following incessant rain during the Grade-I and Grade-II works period.”
In a rejoinder, Zakie Angami, the contractor stated that the work for the said project resumed only after burning the weeds and also spraying herbicides on the spot. The remaining works including laying of Grade-III is yet to be completed, he added.
Stating that as the contractor of the project, they have been following all laid down specifications by the PWD (R&B) to deliver quality works at all cost, Angami stated, “However, it is disheartening to note that despite being a man of such a stature, Shri Kudecho Khamo reacted merely based on the social media posts and went to the extent of making false demand for action against the contractor without seeking any clarification from either the Department or the contractor, which shows his immaturity while also tarnishing the image of the contractor as well as the Department.”
Meanwhile, he informed that while the work is in progress, some unscrupulous people of the area have been creating nuisance against the workforce by damaging the surfaces with vehicle keys while also even going to the extent of threatening them because of which many labourers have fled the site.
The Contractor requested the ADC Chozuba to check such unwanted activities so that the project can be completed on time.
