Dimapur, November 17: “CHILDLINE Se Dosti” campaign started off on November 8 where CHILDLINE Dimapur organized School Awareness at Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School Dimapur. The team took up various sessions on CHILDLINE 1098 service, Anti- Bullying at School and Adolescent sexual health.
Along with this, the team also distributed pamphlet/leaflets to all the students. On November 9, the team conducted wall painting for awareness generation at Government Middle School Thilixu. On November 11, CHILDLINE Dimapur conducted awareness at two Government Middle schools at Government Hr. Sec. School Niuland. The team carried out awareness and sensitization of the services provided by CHILDLINE 1098, case studies and session on adolescent sexual health and hygiene.
The CHILDLINE team in collaboration with District child protection unit distributed sanitary pads to the girl students of the three schools and stressed on the importance and need of a healthy hygiene for a healthy life.
On November 12 and 13, the team visited different stakeholders, allied systems, partners and well-wishers and extended its gratitude for their support towards CHILDLINE and its activities in various aspects over the years. The team also handed over CHILDLINE Frames to all the stakeholders as a sign of acknowledgement and appreciation towards their support and cooperation and also sought assurance for their continuous support towards CHILDLINE for creating a child friendly environment and a healthy child protection system in the State.
The team also visited the flood victims of Petla colony under Naharbari and extended its pledge of CHILDLINE se Dosti towards the children by sharing the message of CHILDLINE 1098 which is for all kinds of children in need of care and protection. As a sign of goodwill gesture the team also distributed cloth materials to more than 40 children who were affected during the recent flood.
CHILDLINE Dimapur concluded its last day of the CHILDLINE Se Dosti campaign on November 14 by visiting Missionaries of Charity at Riverbelt colony, and Chavara Home, Naharbari. The team celebrated Children’s Day with the children and other inmates of both the Homes and shared about the significance of Children’s Day. The team also shared about CHILDLINE 1098 and assured of its fullest support towards all the children for any kind of assistance. The team as a token of love distributed toiletry materials such as soaps, toothbrush & toothpaste, sanitary pads etc to all the inmates.
During the weeklong CHILDLINE Se Dosti Campaign, CHILDLINE Dimapur has reached out to around 1000 children.
As part of the Childline Se Dosti campaign, Childline Kohima conducted a series of activities including awareness on Childline 1098, Dosti Pledge and tying of Dosti band to health care service providers, drawing competition with children from Children’s Home, special talk on All India Radio, etc.
Childline Se Dosti campaign is a weeklong national campaign carried out by Childline across the country to extend invitation to every concerned citizen to become a friend of Childline in helping children in need of care and protection and to reach out to people from all walks of life to sensitized them on the cause of children and to do their bit towards making our city a safer place for children.
Childline Kohima concluded its Childline Se Dosti campaign with Gregory Thejawelie Sote, DC Kohima along with his official accepting Dosti Pledge and Dosti Band to support Childline Kohima.
Meanwhile Childline Kohima has appreciated the support and cooperation of DC Kohima, Chief Medical Officer, Kohima, senior medical officers, medical officers and staffs of Urban Primary Health Centre’s (UPHC), Community Health Centre’s (CHC), Primary Health Center’s (PHC) and sub-centre’s, coordinator of Spartan Open children home and media for making the campaign meaningful and successful.
