Dimapur, July 2: Chief Secretary J Alam has expressed shock and grief at the demise of Toshi Wungtung.
The Chief Secretary stated that he had known Toshi for the last three decades from his student days. He was equally passionate about the socio-economic and educational upliftment of the people of Eastern Nagaland as well as for faster development of the entire State, he said.
The Chief Secretary extended condolences to the bereaved family.
NPP: The Nagaland unit of NPP has expressed grief at the death of Legislator Toshi Wungtung, who passed away on July 1.
In a message issued on Friday, the party conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
NSCN (IM): The collective leadership (chairman, vice-chairman and general secretary) of
National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) have expressed grief at the sudden demise of Toshi Wungtung, Advisor, IPR, SCERT & Village Guard.
In a condolence message, the collective leadership recalled and acknowledged his role and concern for Naga people through his involvement in various capacities beginning from his students’ days in Delhi.
“He left behind an illustrious legacy as God had other plan prepared. It is an immense loss for the Naga people in general and for his Assembly Constituency in particular. The vacuum created would be difficult to fill,” it said.
The collective leadership extended collective hearts and thoughts of comforts and condolences to the grieving family and prayed that his soul be at peace.
WC NNPGs: The Working Committee (WC), Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) has expressed shock and grief at the untimely demise of Toshi Wungtung Yimchunger on July 1 at New Delhi.
He was a leader not only of Yimchunger or ENPO but a very true son of Nagaland, it said.
“He was a gifted leader of men, an intell who led and covered vast area of historical, political, social and cultural issues beyond Naga spectrum. A great light of the Nagas has been snuffed out by the cruellest hand of destiny,” the WC said.
The WC, NNPGs conveyed sincere condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for solace of the departed leader.
NH: The Naga Hoho has expressed shock and grief by the sudden demise of Toshi Wungtung, MLA & Advisor.
“In his untimely demise, Nagas have lost a very promising and a visionary leader. The vacuum created by his demise will be difficult to fill,” it said.
The NH conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that his soul rest in eternal peace.
Kaito: Nagaland Agriculture Minister G Kaito Aye has also expressed grief at the demise of Toshi Wungtung, Advisor.
“His passing has left a huge void impossible to fill, but the legacy of his great leadership will be remembered for generations to come,” he said.
The Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in heavenly peace.
Medo Yhokha: Advisor Technical Education and Elections, Medo Yhokha has conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members, friends and supporters of Toshi Wungtung, who breathed his last on July 1.
“The region, state and people of his community has lost a dynamic and committed leader leaving a huge vacuum behind,” he said while praying for the departed soul find peace and eternal solace.
