Neiba urge CGOA to work for welfare of Naga society
Kohima, November 23: Nagaland Minister for Planning & Coordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu while lamenting that the present Naga family has become a broken society today called upon Chakhesang officers to take the lead in working for the unity and oneness of the Naga people.
Addressing the 20th general session of Chakhesang Gazetted Officers’ Association (CGOA) at SIRD Hall here, Kronu pointed that Naga society is faced with major challenges as the apex body Naga Hoho and also the different Naga civil societies are not in proper shape while there is the unresolved Naga political issue.
He said that there is very less dedicated officers while the government faces severe problem for transfer and posting. The Minister challenged Chakhesang officers to take the lead in bringing the required change in the Naga society by being sincere and dedicated in their responsibilities and duties.
Stating that he is the only legislator in the government from Phek district, Kronu sought the continuous support of the CGOA. He said that peaceful and friendly elections are over and now it is time for all to talk about development and progress for the next four year as too much of politics would not be good for the society.
Kronu also called upon the CGOA to take up the challenge of overcoming the backward tag from the Chakhesang, also propagate venturing out for economic prosperity among the youngsters and not to depend only on government job as it cannot be provided to all.
CGOA president Zhothisa Dawhuo in his presidential address challenged the Chakhesang officers wherever posted to be pro-active and generate creative ideas. He informed that presently CGOA has over 700 members.
He also called upon them to be more effective and responsive to the needs and demand of the changing society.
Sharing greetings, Chakhesang Public Organization president Kekhwengulo Lea called upon the Chakhesang officers to strive and strengthen Chakhesang community.
Later, Search Committee convenor Visielie Kezo announced the new office bearers of CGOA for the session 2018-2020: President – Kuko Mero, vice president – Dr. Zavise Rume, general secretary – Kekhriezuvi Lea, joint secretary – Vekusheyi Rhakho, publicity & information secretary – Bedukho Chiizho, statistical secretary – Velhusalii Naro and Keweko-ii Ritse as treasurer.
