CFC inaugurated at Chizami

Dimapur, September 27: Li Cheh Kro Weavers’ Producer Company Limited’s Common Facility Centre (CFC), funded by NABARD and implemented by North East Network (NEN), was inaugurated on September 27 at Chizami village. The Common Facility Centre (CFC) that was constructed to function as a training-cum-production centre was inaugurated by Imsunaro, DDM Phek, NABARD.
The DDM congratulated the weavers on the successful completion of CFC and acknowledged the effort of the implementing agency, NEN.
She encouraged the weavers by mentioning that Li Cheh Kro is the first registered Weaver- Producer Company in Nagaland.
She also stated that the project is promoted with a large scope that will not only benefit the present shareholders but also the future generations. She appreciated the shareholders from all 6 locations, namely Chizami town, villages of Chizami, Enhulumi, Mesulumi, Sumi and Thetsumi, who developed sample products using natural fibres and exhibited at the inaugural function. She appealed to the weavers to continue with its exploration in natural fibres as it is in high demand in the global market.
Post-lunch, a workshop was conducted for the weavers by NEN members – Wekoweu Tsuhah and Vilazonuo on topics of sustainable livelihoods, health and nutrition.
On the same day, the Li Cheh Kro Weavers’ Producer Company Limited conducted its 2nd annual general meeting. It may be mentioned that the Li Cheh Kro Weavers’ Producer Company Limited was registered on 29th Sept, 2021 under section 25 of Indian Companies Act, 1956. The main objective of the company is to conduct business of producing, aggregating, collecting, grading, storage, pooling, handling, processing, branding, packing, labeling, retailing, marketing and distributing handicraft raw materials.
