
DIMAPUR, JUNE 15: The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, has notified election to the office of President of India under Sub-Section (1) of Section 4 of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Election Act, 1952.
The notification published in the Nagaland Gazette on June 15 said nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any one of his proposers or seconders to the Returning Officer for the President Election, 2022, and Secretary General, Rajya Sabha, PC Mody in Room No. 20, Ground Floor, Parliament House, New Delhi, or if he is absent, to Assistant Returning Officer, Mukul Pande, OSD/Surendra Kumar Tripathi, Joint Secretary and Chief Vigilance Officer, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on any day not later than June 29.
Forms for nomination papers can be obtained from the said office.
In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on July 18 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the places of polling fixed under the rules, the notification said.
