CEO Nagaland reviews poll preparedness

Dimapur, November 25: A video conference with all the Deputy Commissioners & District Election Officers, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Superintendents of Police regarding poll preparedness for General Election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023 was convened by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland with his team of officers on November 24.
The CEO apprised all the DEOs and SPs by saying that thorough preparedness should be undertaken in all aspects relating to election. State Police Additional DG, Renchamo Kikon who was also present in the video conference briefed about the requisition of CAPF, logistic arrangements, communication & deployment plan of security.
The DC & DEOs and SPs of each district also shared their preparation for the upcoming general election and their concerns and issues.
Meanwhile the CEO also held another meeting with enforcement departments/agencies for assessment of election preparedness and ground situation on November 25 in the office chamber of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland.
The meeting was chaired by CEO Nagaland. It was discussed that for conducting the Legislative Assembly Election, 2023 freely and fairly, there is a need to thoroughly check unfair, unhealthy and illegal means like inflow of liquor, use of money power, etc by all the concerned departments.
Representatives from the following departments/ agencies attended the meeting: Police, Stae Excise Department, State Taxes Department, CISF (Dimapur Airport), Airport Authority, Dimapur Airport, IGAR (Assam Rifles), State Level Bankers Committee and officers from office of CEO.
The Election Commission of India will also be reviewing the election preparedness very soon with various departments/agencies. (Page News Service)
