CEO holds review meet with DEOs, SPs

Dimapur, April 2: CEO Nagaland and State police nodal officer held a detail review meeting through video conferencing with all the District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police to review the poll preparedness at the CEO Office, Kohima on April 2.
All the SPs were asked to put in more effort with regard to deposition of arms and also the preventive action that needs to be taken against identified intimidators. The DEOs and SPs were also asked to finalize their district deployment plan and hold security coordination meeting with all the security agencies in the district.
The DEOs were further asked to direct all the banks to report all the suspicious transactions without fail. Discussion on deployment and randomization of polling personnel was carried out and districts were directed to make the necessary arrangement for covering all the shadow areas by proper communication system.
Districts were told to ensure that all the arrangements are in place at the earliest.
Jalukie/Peren: General Observer, Alok Nath, IAS visited Jalukie/Peren on April 2 to review preparedness for upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019 at GA Rest House Jalukie. DC Peren, Sarita Yadav, IAS along with all nodal officers attended the review meeting with updated documents, reports and records.
General Observer along with all nodal officers and sectors magistrates inspected polling stations at NAP Colony GPS Jalukie Town, Village Council Hall Samziuram Village, GMS Mhainamtsi Village, GPS Jalukie B Village and 15 IR Mahila.
Kiphire: General Observer for Tuensang, Kiphire, Mon, Mokokchung and Longleng, Ravi Jha visited Kiphire on April 1 evening and had a review meeting with all the election monitoring cells of Kiphire at DC’s office chamber.
The General Observer expressed satisfaction on the report given by the different monitoring cells of Kiphire district.
Observer, Ravi Jha was accompanied by the District administration and district officers who also inspected some polling stations in Kiphire town. He also gave suggestions for the better arrangement for the convenience of the voters on the voting day.
Tuensang: DC and DEO Tuensang conducted the commissioning of the EVM and VVPAT for the forthcoming parliamentary election on April 2 at DC’s office complex. The commissioning process was participated by representatives of all the political parties of the district.
Kohima: The Kohima District administration in association with the Nagaland Motorcycle Club organized a motorcycle rally under the theme “Yes to Clean Election” on April 2.
Deputy Commissioner & DEO Kohima, Anoop Khinchi IAS flagging off the rally at his office complex said that as part of the district SVEEP campaign the motorcycle rally was organized to create awareness on clean election. He called upon the riders to propagate the message to the general public ‘to vote right, in order to have their future bright’. He hoped that through their participation, the message on clean election will reach to the general public.
Around 40 bikes participated in the rally. The rally covered the whole area of the town with a short stoppage at the following locations: Old MLA Hotel junction, Keziekie, High School junction, Secretariat, Don Bosco junction, PHQ, Lerie and culminated at the box cutting area.
Mokokchung: Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of April 2019 has been postponed till further notification due to the ensuing general election to the Lok Sabha and By-Election to 26-Aonglenden assembly constituency being underway.
