DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 15: Leader of Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) Legislature Party, Kuzholuzo Nienu on Thursday said that Government of India should table the Naga political issue in the ongoing winter Parliament session if it is serious about solving the problem.
A press release stated that Nienu made this remark while speaking at the 50th golden anniversary celebration of Kutsapo Sports Association as chief guest.
He said that if the Naga issue is tabled in the Parliament then the forthcoming general elections could be withheld and not conducted as scheduled. But if it is not tabled, then election is imminent and will be held as schedule, he claimed.
The NPF leader also demanded that before inking the final deal, the common draft of the agreement between the Naga political groups and the Government of India should be placed in public domain.
He maintained that if the Central Government is serious about bringing a practical solution to the Naga political issue, then it should not hesitate or prolong but deliver justice to the Naga people at the earliest.
He asserted that the NPF is committed to facilitate a final solution to the Naga political issue which is honourable, acceptable and inclusive. He also added that the present UDA partners are committed towards bringing solution and not election.
Stating that 50 years’ celebration is remarkable, Nienu said that it is an occasion to retrospect and introspect “where we need room for improvement to develop and foster our human values”.
During the occasion, DC, Phek Kumar Ramnikant, SP, Phek, Bharat Laxman Markad and 5th NAP Commandant Y Ngullie also greeted the gathering.
