Centre, NSCN (IM) holds talk in Delhi

Delhi talks

Kohima, August 10: The Central Government and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) on Monday held another round of parley at New Delhi, sans Governor and interlocutor, RN Ravi.
Sources said NSCN (IM) delegation was led by chief negotiator Thuingaleng Muivah, and Union Government was represented by two Additional Directors from the Intelligence Bureau (IB), AK Mishra and Arvind Singh, in-charge of Northeast.
The leaders of Naga group were invited to the national capital after hiccups had developed in the negotiation with RN Ravi. Today’s meeting was convened to rebuild trust between the two parties and further the peace process.
Today’s sitting was a pleasant and warm up meeting for more meetings in the next few days, which will be on daily basis, according to a source.
Senior members of NSCN (IM), including emissary to collective leadership, V S Atem, Rh. Raising, Vikiye Awomi, A. Puni, Imachuba, T T Among, Zarsie Nyuthe, Meyong Phom and Karaibo Chawang.
Last month NSCN (IM) skipped talks with Ravi citing health problem, and Muivah air dashed to Delhi, as invited by the Union Government; an attempt to break the deadlock.
Lately, the Naga group has demanded for replacement of Ravi, but Government’s agents, and other groups, engaged in dialogue with the Government, have defended the interlocutor. So also the Centre is unlikely to change interlocutor due to certain reasons, but he would be assisted by senior Government officials in the next round of talks.
Meanwhile, according to another source the Centre has invited Naga Hoho and other organizations to New Delhi for further consultations, on the sideline of talks with NSCN (IM).
On Monday, Centre’s Interlocutor and Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi also reached Delhi.
