
Dimapur, May 2: Celebration of Anna Yojana & Public Distribution System under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, organised by the Department of Food & Civil Supplies, Kiphire, was held on April 27 at DC’s conference hall, Kiphire.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, T Wati Aier said that under Anna Yojana, Food & Civil Supplies Department is distributing 5 kg of rice per person free of cost.
Wati urged the Department to distribute equally and to reach out to the village level for public benefit, and added that PMGAY scheme will end by September 2022.
The DC also mentioned that Kiphire being an Aspirational District, many schemes under various departments are developing the district.
Wati urged the gathering to maintain COVID-19 precautionary measures for safety.
Earlier, the special guest released a brochure while a brief report on PM-GKAY was presented by Assistant Director, F&CS, E Pangjei Konyak.
Testimonial remarks were also shared by two beneficiaries under NFSA ration card.
At Mon, the Food & Civil Supplies Department, observed the occasion at DC’s conference hall.
ADC Mon, Y Chingyak Konyak lauded the Government for extending the scheme and expressed hope that the Department would be successful in the implementation of the scheme.
He urged upon the public to cooperate, assist and help the Department for proper execution of the distribution system in the District.
Assistant Director, Food & Civil Supplies, Mon, Neisazo Domeh gave a brief report on PM-GKAY where he highlighted that the scheme had been extended from April 2022 to September 2022.
He informed that 5 kg of foodgrains per person per month will be provided free of cost to all the beneficiaries covered under NFSA in order to provide food security to all.
He highlighted that the PMGKAY Phase- VI was flagged off on 7th April 2022 from FCI Depot, Dimapur.
Depot in-charge Mon, Rohan Singh and President FPS Association Mon, Wangkum delivered speeches. The event also witnessed testimonials from the beneficiaries.
