CE Power notifies

Dimapur, January 28: Chief Engineer (D&R) Power, Er. Khose Sale has notified that stringing of any type of cables, wires, pipes etc. between electric poles will not be permitted within town limits.
In a notification, the DC said cables, wires, pipes etc. strung between poles poses hazard to persons involved in repair/maintenance works of the lines besides hindering line maintenance/repair works; increasing the probability of accidents/fatalities. The order is to reduce added risk while working with electricity.
The notification said Section 53 sub-sections 1(a) & (b) of the Electricity Act, 2003 says the authority may in consultation with the State Government, specify suitable measures for – protecting the public (including the persons engaged in the generation, transmission or distribution or trading) from dangers arising from the generation, transmission or distribution or trading of electricity, or use of electricity supplied or installation, maintenance or use of any electric line or electrical plant; and eliminating or reducing the risks of personal injury to any person, or damage to property of any person or interference with use of such property.
The CE brought to the notice of all concerned that any type of cables, wires, pipes etc. strung between electric poles within any town jurisdictions should be removed within 3 months from the date of this notification.
