Dimapur, March 3: The Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) has decided to lock down the DEO and SDEO offices in Tuensang from March 4 till their demands are fulfilled.
In a press statement, CCSU vice president, W B Mongko and general secretary, C Pongsu stated that the CCSU has submitted representation to Department on November 28, 2017 and ultimatum served to department for 10 days on February 5 last for immediate retention of downgraded GHS, namely GHS Chingmei and GHS Noksen.
Basing on that the CCSU questioned the government as to what prevention measures have the department taken to avoid from downgrading when GHS Chingmei is running without subject teacher since its upgradation in the year 1998, and GHS Noksen is also functioning without the required teachers.
It said both the GHS are functioning without proper Head Master (HM) and Asst Head Master (AHM).
The CCSU also mentioned that GHS Noksen produced 50% result on 2018 HSLC Exam after the initiative of CCSU.
The Union said the given stipulated time has expired but the department is yet to respond to the ultimatum served by CCSU. (Page News Service)
