CC retains Challenger Cup; Classic Cup final today

Kohima, November 18: Classic Club Kohima has retained the 11th edition of Challenger Cup at Kohima local ground today.
Defeating Kohima Press Club (KPC) by 9 goals to 4, Classic Club consecutively retained the trophy for the fifth time.
Challenger Cup is an annual event between KPC and CC Kohima as part of the football tournament of Classic Cup.
Ruovizhalie (Bubu) contributed four goals for Classic Club while Kekhriesetuo netted two goals. K. Neibu Sekhose and Mhaphruo also added a goal each.
Asalie scored a hat-trick for Kohima Press Club while Ketou Viluo scored a goal for the team.
MLA Chotisuh Sazo, who is also member of Classic Club, gave away prizes to the winners.
Earlier, the members observed a minute silence and paid respect to the departed souls of late KPC president Xavier Rutsa and Classic Club vice president Zaselatuo Solo.
The individual awards were won by:
Player of the Tournament – Asalie of Kohima Press Club
Highest Scorer – Rovizhalie (Bubu) of Classic Club
Best Midfielder – Kekhrievor of Classic Club)
Best goalkeeper – HK Chishi of Kohima Press Club
Scorer of the match – K. Neibu Sekhose of Classic Club
Meanwhile, the final of the ongoing 24th edition of Classic Cup organized by Classic Club will be played between Head Hunters Jakhama and Chedema Village Youth Organisation.
President of Nagaland Football Association, P Atuo Mezhür Sekhose will grace the valedictory function as the guest of honour at 1:30 pm.
