DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 7: Civil society organisations, under the aegis of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD), have decided to form a Core Committee to implement the public resolution of ‘One Government One Tax’ adopted during the landmark people’s rally at Clock Tower on October 31, 2013.
A press release issued by NCD informed that this was one of the decisions taken during a consultative meeting of all Dimapur-based tribal hohos/unions, civil society organisations held on Wednesday at Tourist Lodge Dimapur.
“The house resolved to reaffirm the public resolution of ‘One Government, One Tax’. The public has had enough of illegal taxation, extortion, syndicate by individuals, groups, Government agencies and will no longer be mute spectators but will undertake concrete action with appropriate authorities”, read the resolution.
Accordingly, they endorsed the NCD to form and empower the Core Committee consisting of members of Vigilance Committee, NCD; Presidents/Chairmen of Dimapur-based tribal hohos/unions; representatives of DCCF, DUCCF, DDGBA, DNSU, NWHD, DCCI, BAN, EDBA, non-Naga communities; and representatives of village councils.
