On women carrying infants asking for money

Dear Madam,In the residential areas behind the Dimapur railway station, from a few days, a number of shabbily dressed women are seen carrying infants, visiting door to door, narrating different stories claiming they are real and asking people for money. The phenomenon of several women visiting the same homes on consecutive days, carrying infants appears like a pattern and I worry about the infants. Can the Dimapur Police investigate this?Prasanjit, Dimapur...

Open markets on all days

Dear Madam,With the Covid positivity rates declining drastically in Nagaland, it is high time that the markets be opened all throughout the week in Dimapur. Closure of shops on Wednesdays is meaningless as most shops conduct their businesses eventhough they seem to be closed. Now that festive season has already arrived, the markets needs to be opened all throughout the week. The district administration and DTF can think over it and do the needful, while also taking measures to enforce the Covid SOPs in Dimapur.Titon Das, Dimapur...

On dilapidated condition of roads in Dimapur

Dear Madam,It is surprising to see that important roads within Dimapur town are in dilapidated state and the state government has just been a mute spectator. Just imagine the condition of GS Road, Golaghat Road, Burma Camp Bazaar Road etc, which has been left unattended for many years and nothing has been done to repair the same. The GS Road turns into a river when there is slight downpower. The Government of Nagaland should immediately take steps to undertake road repair in the larger interest of the general public.Madhav, Dimapur...

Traffic jam in Dimapur is becoming public nuisance

Dear MadamThe recent scene of un-regulated traffic jam in Dimapur town throughout the day is becoming worrisome and a public nuisance. Sometimes, we can't help but left wondering whether the Dimapur traffic police are even trained. The routine traffic chaos even on holidays and Wednesdays (partial lockdown) is a proof that they are unable to manage traffic efficiently. With due respect to some few sincere and dedicated ones, many of them are mostly engaged in the corner of some roads bargaining with auto-drivers and two-wheelers for some few hundred bucks...

On bridges in Dimapur

Dear Madam,Time and over, the bridges in Dimapur need their deteriorated metal sheets changed and sometimes they are not changed for so long that they become very dangerous for the people. Defacing public properties

Dear Madam,The white walls on the streets, the freshly painted dividers on the roads, shop entrances and any open place in our state is filled with tobacco stains which makes me question our people's civic sense. The number of repainting and removing is not enough to make the people understand the importance of cleanliness and using waste bins. Our people refer to throw in the drainage area even when there is waste bin around making me question whether if they are ignorant or they are just not used to using...

On cryptos in India

Dear Madam,People are going crazy about cryptos and recently a country adopted bitcoin as its legal currency. That being said, why is there so much of hesitance when it comes to cryptocurrencies in India? It is well understood that there are aspects of them that make them risky, but if we take too long to address the elephant in the room and by the time we find out that they are the future, we might already lose the train. The government must share what it is doing about it and...
