Mizoram Govt new initiatives to encourage students

AIZAWL, MARCH 7: In a major thrust towards encouraging students to join Central and other state Government services, the Mizoram Government has decided to dole out cash incentives to students, who successfully clear competitive examinations under the Central and state Governments. This was announced by the newly-appointed Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) Chairman, Joseph Lalhimpuia during a press conference here. Tezpur, March 4: An adult rhino, strayed away of the Kaziranga National Park, was killed and its horn taken away by poachers in Majuli district, a forest department official said today. Guwahati, March 3: The Assam government on Saturday announced extension of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) by another six months in the state. According to a statement, the Home and Political Department of Assam, through a notification issued on February 28, declared the entire state a "disturbed area" under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958.
